Bharatiya, a student run Indian organization at York University is going into its sixth year of operations. Having been awarded the title of the "Best Overall Club" at York University, Bharatiya begins the academic year on a high note – a new executive team has been set in place for the year with the mission to promote the Indian culture, subsequently facilitating a unique cultural exchange between the many cultural colors at York University.
Bharatiya has been involved in a variety of events on campus and the group made its presence felt by winning numerous awards during "Multi-Cultural Week 2007".
Bharatiya has been responsible for holding numerous dance events, fund raisers and cultural programs at York University and the group has become famous for their regular "Samosa Sales", where the group sets up a table selling famous Indian snacks.
